When you have finally have the hair you love, proper maintenance is the key to maintain your beautiful tresses for the proper wear time. Here are some home care maintenance tips for your Hair Extensions:

  • Do not shampoo your hair until 48 hours after the extensions have been applied. This will give enough time for the bonds to settle and prevent sliding of the extensions.
  • You may notice some strands of hair near the extension bonds. This is your natural hair shedding that gets trapped into the bonds. It is important to get these hair cut by your stylist to avoid tangling near the bonds.
  • Pull your hair into a loose ponytail or braid during bedtime. You can also sleep on a silk pillow to let your long locks move freely.
  • Brush your twice a day with a soft brush. Do not pull the extensions as it may lead to breakage of the bonds.
  • Wear a cap while swimming as the chlorine in the water can stick to your hair and affect the shine of the extensions.
  • For  made with human hair, avoid using styling devices such as straighteners or curling rods, too close to the bonds. In case of synthetic extensions, go for a patch test first to confirm the heat does not cause any damage.
  • Avoid using harsh shampoos or products that contain silicone as they can weaken the bonds and also affect the longevity of your Hair Extensions.
